Chundah Valley Skardu
Chundah valley is one of the most beautiful tourist point in district Skardu. It takes one hour’s to reach here from Skardu city. The valley is a hilly and has an amazing view of the whole of Skardu City.
Feasibility of Season
The best season to visit this area is spring blossom season, as the area filled with so many colorful flowers fruit bearing plants, like apricot, cherry, apple etc. The most suitable visit time is the period of April to July. In Skardu, the Chundah valley is one of the best must-visit place. It have a viewpoint at the top hill whereat; you can enjoy while seeing the whole city of Skardu, Kuwardu Village, Qomrah village and Kachura also. The greenery is also one of the part of this tourist place.
Azming Feelings at the Top
It is a place to breathe and relax; there is no better place than Chunda valley in Skardu. After reaching here, you will feel that you are on the top of the world roof. There is also the opportunities of hiking, camping, and sightseeing in the valley. I think a day will not be enough to enjoy everything; you can visit several parts, such as the beautiful blossomed trees and the spectacular views of Chunda Valley and Shangrila Lake. An overnight camping is also suggested, as there is many grosser shops in the adjust village.

The valley is a beautiful place which very famous in Pakistan. The valley attracts every person to reach here, people enjoys after reaching here; as it is adjacent to the Skardu city (Gamba Skardu). After reaching here, people feels relaxation and so excite. This place is very suitable to visit with family especially in the summer vacation season. There are many pure water channels passing through green land and touching your heart.
Location
Chundah Valley is located nearby Skardu city having elevation of 2,510 meters above the sea level. It is one of the beautiful part of the Himalayan Range Gilgit-Baltistan, Pakistan. You can see the some parts of the valley from Skardu city and when you reach the top of this place then you can see the whole city of Skardu, Gamba Skardu, Kachurah, Kuwardo, Qomrah etc. You can easily reach Chunda Valley by various vehicles like jeep, car, motor bikes etc. However, if you wants to reach here by public transport, you must take a bus or a van from Yadgar Chowk Skardu.
Weather
There is extreme cold, low atmospheric pressure, and being high attitude, there are low levels of oxygen and carbon dioxide. The temperature in Chunda valley varies greatly depending on the time of year, but normally its weather remain colder. During the winter season, the average temperature remains about -15°C, it also drop as low as -30°C at night. However, during the summer, the average temperature remains around 15-20°C, but it can get as high as 25°C during the daytime.
The valley is famous as tourist destination in Skardu with a truckload of attractions and places to explore. There are number of things to enjoy, as this Valley is full of scenic beauty, lush greenery, and some of the most majestic mountains in the world.
The Giant Mountains
It is located on Hamaliyan mountains, however on the front side you can see the Karakoram range also. During the month of October to March, it remains undercover of snow. During the snow time, the peoples comes here to play and enjoy the snow.
Greenery of Valley
The valley is like a meadow covering greenery and beautiful mountains while passing water from the channels and has a delightful climate. The scenery during April to September always remains so mesmerizing that you’ll be lost in the beauty.
Hiking
While hiking towards Chundah valley, you can feel that you are hiking on a green carpet mountain. There are many trails to reach here, one from Skardu city, one from CMH side, one from Chundah village and one from Kachurah side. Hiking at Chunda valley is truly an experience of a lifetime. The various trees of Apricot, Cherry, Apple, Almond, and Pear each having different colors of flower welcome you to the valley.
Camping
The valley is very suitable for camping, as there are every facility available in adjacent village. You have to make sure the camping equipment like jackets, cooking materials, Tamboos and other things. The place is perfect for camping. Many people comes here, they have interest to camping here, and it depends on weather. You can choose any one of them according to your convenience. After doing set up your camp, you can enjoy a barbecue night with your friends. The local people of Chundah village are very honest and has the art of hostibility while facilitating their tourist guest. They also provides the local dishes for their guest. However, there is dire need to look the cleaning of the area and also should camping away from the village side.
